Spectrum Electrical Services, Inc. is one of the leading small business construction contractors in the country today.  We are an International Electrical Contractor and General Construction firm providing design, installation, construction and repair of commercial, industrial and residential electrical systems as well as mechanical systems, physical security systems and general construction.

In 1993, Spectrum became certified as an 8(a) firm with the U.S. Small Business Administration.  Admittance into this program has allowed the company to obtain overseas construction contracts.  In October of 1996 our firm successfully completed the total Electrical Upgrade for the United States Embassy, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.  The project consisted of upgrading the entire electrical systems of the Chancery and Main Ambassadors’ residence, located within a two city block compound requiring upgrading the perimeter site and security lighting.  Since that time, Spectrum has successfully completed over 50 projects in embassies and consulates around the world.

Spectrum has diversified its scope of services toward General Construction.  We carry a General Contractors SIC Code which enables us to offer complete construction services in addition to electrical contracting.  This allows us to pursue Indefinite Quantity Contracts (IDIQ).  We have been awarded mulitple IDIQ Task Order Contracts for Design/Build services worldwide.

Spectrum has demonstrated their ability to bid and manage multiple construction and repair projects throughout the world. As evidenced by our Past Performance, certificates of appreciation and positive Project Director / contractor evaluations. Resulting in four nominations for Contractor of the Year by The U.S. Department of State, Overseas Buildings Operations. In both 2005 and 2007 Spectrum won the award for Contractor of the Year.  Certificates are available upon request.

Our firm was established in Fairfax, Virginia in 1990 by Mr. Philip Pao.  Spectrum began as an electrical subcontractor performing various types of new and remodeling projects on commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.

Mr. Pao has been active in various phases of the construction industry and personally manages the day to day operations of the firm.  This hands on management style contributes to Spectrum’s unsurpassed quality control standards.  This is demonstrated by its ability to beat contract deadlines, control budgets, and maintain the highest level of job performance.  The company has been successful through it’s project management expertise thus allowing the Embassies to conduct its regular full-scale operations and to have full and normal use of its premises and facilities while simultaneously conducting reconstruction.
